About me
Jennifer Bell loves to get high—running up mountains in the summer and skiing down them in the winter. Splitting her time between southern Colorado and northern New Mexico, she thrives where the air pressure is low. She has walked across Spain and Portugal on a 30‑day, 300‑mile Camino, taught skiing, and coached young slalom racers.
A contributing author to Foraging Mushrooms of the Rocky Mountains, Jennifer was also the first woman to become a state‑certified wild mushroom hunter in Colorado.
This year marks her fifth time leading the Women’s Foray at the Telluride Mushroom Festival. As the former president of the Pikes Peak Mycological Society, Jennifer delights in taking foragers to her secret spots—places with hidden springs, rushing rivers, and mushrooms tucked beneath logs, trees, and brush.
Participants will learn how to make iNaturalist observations and how to collect samples for the festival’s ID tables.
