About me
Originally from the deep eastern Finnish forests, Riitta Ikonen’s many interdisciplinary collaborations look at contemporary human’s belonging in the natural world. The four time TMF Costume Competition winner's first book (with Karoline Hjorth) 'Eyes as Big as Plates' was nominated ‘Best first photobook in the world' at the Paris Photo / Aperture awards and Ikonen has exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki, London 2012 Olympic Park and the PyeongChang Olympics amongst others. Ikonen is passionate about wearing fungi and a member of the American Stinkhorn Society (A.S.S.)
