About me
Christopher Vinci is a Colorado based field mycologist, educator, and community builder dedicated to bringing people into direct relationship with fungi through hands on learning and shared field experience. He is a graduate student at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs, where he is the Founder and President of the University of Colorado Mycological Society, leading one of the region’s most active student driven mycology programs.
He is also the founder of the Pikes Peak Myco League, an innovative grassroots movement with over 1,000 members that connects cultivators, foragers, and citizen scientists through education, field work, and community driven exploration. Christopher is the founder of Colorado Foraging Company, where he leads guided forays and immersive outdoor education experiences throughout the region.
He serves as Executive Director of Operation CAPS, a 501c3 nonprofit and the world’s first mycology based therapeutic modality program focused on community wellness, and nature-based education. He is also the founder of Colonizing Colorado and Prop. 122, providing cultivation supplies, workshops, and applied mycology training, and the creator of Most Dope Mycology Apparel.
Christopher has guided hundreds of participants through forays, workshops, and public programs across Colorado. His work sits at the intersection of science, education, and culture, with an emphasis on accessibility, curiosity, and helping others build real confidence in the field.
