About me
Aurelija Plūkė is a Lithuania-based mycology educator and the creator and host of Lithuania’s first and only national TV show devoted entirely to mushrooms and the fungal world. A lifelong nature-lover, she fell into mycology through macro photography, discovering that what looks like “just a little mushroom” can open into a vast, surprising world mostly hidden from our eyes. What started as curiosity, then a hobby, has somehow turned into a life spent spreading the spores.
Through forays, talks, and workshops for adults and children, Aurelija helps people move beyond the usual “edible or not?” mindset and into fungi as ecology, culture, and wonder. She brings a fungi lens into unexpected contexts such as museums, libraries, art workshops, festivals, community gatherings, sustainability events, and business settings, showing how fungi shape the world around us and can offer unexpected approaches to challenges humans face. She is also the founder of her own functional and medicinal mushroom brand, created to make mushroom knowledge practical as well as inspiring.
